This is my 2nd attempt at using postage stamps on my work, I've actually quite enjoyed it and think they look great. I have seen them used on other people's work but haven't always liked the look of it so decided to stay clear of them which is a shame as I have had some wonderful stamps.
Marjolijn told me a brilliant way of getting stamps off the envelope. She told me to boil some water and then put the stamps in it, the glue will loosen and then you can just peel them off. I haven't tried it yet but I know it will work really well :).
I have some stamp images background paper which has been lying around for a while in my scrap paper basket and I pulled it out by accident, when I saw it I thought yeah why not try it. I stuck that down and then looked through my box of stamps and found 2 from Finland that fitted in well with the images on the paper... butterfly and flowers.
I backed them on to silver paper and stuck those down...
and then created my own postmarks as it felt like something was missing.
On the back I stuck down the background paper. I used a stamp from Trinidad & Tabago which I backed on to yellow card to match the card I used.
I also added a postmark on this side too. I finished it off with pink lace which matches something in the picture.
Now its ready to go on its travels.
