I know I say this often but I really don't know where the days are going. I can't believe it was so long ago that I blogged but I have been in some what of a lazy mood, its not that I haven't got anything to write about as I have been crafting from time to time also but nothing for my etsy shop.
I have summer holidays in 2 weeks which I can't wait for, then I hope to spend quite some time crafting and to start listing items again... I hope this time that I will definately do this as I keep making promises but not actually doing it.
I wanted to actually write and tell you about a school trip I went on with the 6-7 years old who I was asked last minute to go with since someone pulled out. I'm so glad they did as it was such a great experience.
We went to a place called Scarborough on the East Coast of England. I have only been to Whitby in that location and that was as a child so I can't really remember it all that much. We left Bradford with depressing rain and we thought thats how our day would be but luckily it wasn't.
We went to North Bay Beach which is completely away from the main beach/tourist area but as we were driving through it looked fantastic... compared to Blackpools run down/boarded up shop fronts on the sea front which are such an eye sore as well as the fact when I went there was quite a bit of work being done on the actual beach. You can see the main part of Scarborough here

I never understand why they make these places so ugly and unfitting to the surroundings. The class I was with didn't go there first we went to the beach first and what an amazing walk around it was. The tide didn't go out until after 12pm so we had to walk for a fair bit before we found some sand for the children to play on. The sun was shinning, the sea was glittering and there was hardly anyone around.
You can see the pyramids of the Sealife Centre in the background, we were some where near there.
When sat on the beach we were surrounded by the greenest cliffs and the most beautiful and colourful
beach huts :). We could also see in the far distance above us the odd hotel/apartment and the ruins of an old castle.
The only downside was that the children were not allowed in the sea because of health and safety reasons but luckily none of them seemed to care and were happy digging holes, covering each other with sand and making sand castles. In total there were 60 of us on the beach, one secondary school children which I'm guessing there were 30 of and about 5 or 6 other people which isn't much considering the images I've seen of beaches.
We spent about 1-2 hours on the beach and then we went to the Sealife Centre where we saw all kinds of sealife but my favourite had to be the jellyfish :).
I would have loved to have taken photo's myself to show you but there has been a lot of talk at work about children's photo's which I have never posted online or having images on your own personal camera's of children so its best to save yourself being accused of something.
School trips are not so fun for children anymore what with health and safety risks, the children couldn't have an ice-cream because of healthy schools promotions, they can't have money incase they lose it (I used to keep my things for years and eventually use them) and no camera to take photos for children. I bet if we went to the main part of Scarborough we wouldn't have been allowed to let the children on the donkey either :(
I'd love to go here again over my summer holidays and visit the main bit also plus the harbour with the boats as that looked amazing when driving past.
